I think you’re right to anticipate tangling. Plus when a fish takes that first fly you have all that extra line with two more points to hook the fish elsewhere. Sounds like a bird’s nest waiting to happen.

Yeah I can see that playing out for sure. I’ve never fished one. I’ve read articles detailing three-fly rigs tied big streamer >> small streamer >> nymph, and I’m like “wtf?” On a slightly different note, what gets me is stores selling Rapalas with 3 treble hooks when the regs state no more than 2.
