I lived in a tiny studio in San Diego. Downstairs, in a one bedroom, there was a generational family (grandparents, parents and kids) of 6 living there. I don’t know if they were documented or not, nor did I care. The rest of the apartments were solo residences. They are NOT taking our housing.

We have learned nothing. I have an 830 credit score but I’m smart enough to know, I can’t afford everything that goes with home ownership. I’ve been renting my entire adult life and it sucks I have zero equity. But my rent is only $825 for a one bedroom duplex with a garage in a nice part of town.

Ours didn’t go up that much. They kept our premiums the same but upped our deductible and out of pocket max. I’m very lucky. Our insurance is pretty good. But no raises in 3 years. Just “spot bonuses” to cover the higher deductible costs. Ffs I’m never going to be able to retire, am I?
