You would have to check on the website to see who is working on what department. Keep in mind, though, that many positions are not yet filled, so there may not be a name listed for a particular department.

As for who can be on the concom, anyone who wants to can volunteer. That's not to say that BIPOC or other folks must volunteer or not get consideration-it's to say that we can choose to volunteer if so inclined. Regardless of volunteering status, I think the con is making a sincere attempt.

When someone pointed out your post to me, I contacted the con and they were already working on fixing it. Too many cons double down on their mistakes or take forever to fix things, and I was glad that this con immediately took responsibility. That's the type of response I expect from these folks.

First, even though I know some folks on the concom, I am not on concom and am not speaking for anyone but myself. So, yeah, unconscious bias is definitely a thing. Not paying attention is also a thing-I knew there were good people on the concom and never thought to even look at the website.

LA Worldcon has apologized and taken action. I know the convention was already working on being inclusive and having Safer Spaces, Spanish-language programming, and other things, so I hope folks will understand that sometimes people make mistakes. Full disclosure-I know folks from the convention
