Yes I wish someone could explain it 🫤
But there are so many anomalies in the system.

I am on the pension now after nearly 3 years on Jobseeker (not fun over 60), I still privately rent but whenever there is a rise in the pension, they cut down my rent assistance! Give with one hand, take with the other . . .

Just googled it and found out that Canva acquired Affinity about a year ago. People are commenting that they are worried that it won’t be just a one off cost anymore. I will still look into it though - I have to use something 🤷‍♀️

Ok I will. Thanks! 😊

I have been retired for nearly 5 years now and haven’t really done any computer artwork since then so I’m behind on what’s available now. I want to put together a family history book so I’ll have to get something to work with. Adobe is too dear for me so I’ll to try something like Canva I guess . .

They are ridiculously expensive - I hate the fact that you can’t buy their software anymore and you have to pay a lot to continually rent the programs. What are you using instead?

Yerr Adobe is really unhelpful like that. It takes at least 3 times of cancelling until they finally get the message.

These lolly purchases would have been in pennies wouldn’t they? I remember getting a halfpenny for going to the shop for mum and getting to choose from lots of different individual lollies that were on display ☺️

Finland is actually the happiest country in the world - 8 years running. I believe Denmark is in the top 5.

Or maybe I’m not remembering correctly and they were called Park Drive cigarettes which came in a gold pack

I know I was under 10 years old - probably from about 7 onwards - when mum would send Mr to the corner shop for a pack of Park Lane cigarettes. After decimal currency came in when I was about 9, I think a packet of Park Lane’s cost about 30c.

Very very good show and gets better by the season. So many great actors throughout and the ending is particularly good.

We migrated from Europe in 1959. My mum had all her teeth removed at 25 because they were told that dentistry in countries like Australia wouldn’t be as good as European ones. She hated her dentures & had trouble with them the rest of her life. Dad didn’t do the denture thing but had bad teeth 🫤

Just like Australians!

Everything wants to beep at us these days - things on the car (besides the horn), washing machines, fridges, air fryers, irons etc., just to name a few . . . How did we ever manage before all the beeping? Did we constantly have burnt food or did we let everything go cold? I hate all the beeps too! 😖

OMG! You have a Shiba?!
Such great dogs, so cheeky, clever and full of life.
My daughter had 2 shibas, but sweet Suki died nearly a year ago at 15 1/2 yrs old and Kuma is still with us at nearly 17 yrs old, though he has slowed down a lot and sleeps most of the day. Best dogs ever 🐕

You can tell the client that there could be a qr code on the poster that can direct people to their website so they can read all the info at their leisure that the client wants to give.
To paraphrase Paul Arden (Advertising guru) regarding posters - “3 words ideal, 5 words max”.
February 1, 2025 at 12:56 PM
All clients want a lot of words on poster - always been the same. They don’t realise that most people won’t want to read it all thru. You’ve a few seconds to make an impact & grab attention. In my years as an art director & designer, I always did an alternate version which they would usually go with

Lots of parents now put air tags or a tracking device on kids’ wrists, ankles, clothing or backpacks - that could be another option for your daughter to use on her child. Not perfect, but something . . .

Well done Melissa - I hope you enjoy working in that field as much as I did for over 4 decades. I had a lot of changes in that time - I wonder what changes you will see . . .

My thoughts exactly! They really do shoot themselves in the foot don’t they?

We bus passengers are polite in Australia which apparently surprises a lot of people from overseas especially the USA as they don’t do it. I have always said thank you to the driver when alighting from the bus - can’t imagine not doing it 🤗

Oh you were lucky! I haven’t had the pleasure of catching the Christmas decorated bus yet this year. I hope he will do the 596 Hornsby Heights route soon ☺️ 🧑🏻‍🎄 👍🏻 🌠
