Upon publication, Hatim El-Hibri and Joe Khalil started up a series of long and important conversations about other regions, and other ways of thinking platform capitalisms (and the limits of it). We’ve tried to capture this rich series of dialogues here, in this piece for Platforms & Society.

A couple years ago, three of us wrote “Platform capitalisms and platform cultures” a response to debates around platform capitalism and how it worked differently in our areas of study, India, China, and Japan.
