##BirdOfTheDay American dipper on #rocks

#Corvids are my favorite! Here are three #BirdOfTheDay from my trip to Edmonton for The Wildlife Society conference. Canada jay, common raven, and black-billed magpie.

This #raptor #BirdOfTheDay was sitting above my chicken and duck coop. Smaller than most of my flock, this coopers hawk was soon mobbed by crows and went of its way. One of the many reasons why my domestic flock has an enclosure to keep them safe and to keep wildlife safe.

My first contribution to #BirdoftheDay is a #Colorful Black-billed Magpie!

25 years ago I saw the Athabasca Glacier for the first time and could walk right up to it. Now the only way you can reach it is to pay for a ice truck to drive you there. In front of it, a glacial lake grows 💔

After attending TWS in Edmonton, my partner and I spent the rest of the week exploring Banff, Yoho, Kootenay, Jasper, and Elk Island National Parks in Canada! 🤍❤️
