I agree. I talk to a lot of people, I am fairly involved in organizing & mutual aid, and I spend a LOT of time on trying to convince people it’s bad enough to do something. We should be careful to assume folks are doing something.

Meanwhile, I see Americans saying, “what can I do?” and throwing up their hands. My foreign acquaintances are all asking, “what are Americans doing about this?!”

I can’t bring them all day. My four year old has a patience limit before meltdowns. And while I’m pressing for collective support for childcare, it’s not happening.

Yeah. I’m pressing for collective childcare solutions. It’s a struggle to get that to happen.

Add extra pasta to your groceries and donate to the food pantry.

Buy a big box of granola bars to keep on your front seat to hand to hungry homeless folks at intersections.

Round up at every register ask that’s a good organization.

Use Resistbot or 5calls to contact those fools in government.

I’m not here all day, every day, cause I’m a busy lady with a small child, a farm, and a my hand in a lot of organizing pots. And I talk to a lot of overwhelmed folks.

Pick something to do. Even if it’s small. It will help you AND the world with the overwhelming awful. I promise.
