The reason I decided to answer is because it gets to the heart of what accessibility is and why no one should be "certifying" something as accessible or declaring it a "gold standard."

Bureaucrats deciding to withhold physician-recommended care. And the elected politicians refusing to intervene. Why do we even need you if you aren't willing to serve your purpose to the electorate?

Do we as a society withhold medical care during the palliative stage of life? Care that is recommended by their physicians, makes them more comfortable, and prevents complications? I didn't think we did. This is the exact opposite of what palliative care is about.

What is needed are overlapping comprehensive enforceable policies that don't leave wiggle room for employers' excuses for failing to create conditions that protect workers well-being.
