Had a fabulous meal last night at Work & Class in Denver. The colorado lamb was outstanding and overall the place was so fun, everyone clearly had a deep sense of love for the food and work they do.

Every year I reread Dr. King's speech "Beyond Vietnam" and recommit myself to the struggle for liberation from racism, poverty, imperialism, war, and suffering of all kinds. I encourage you to do the same today.
"So they go, primarily women and children and the aged. They watch as we poison their water, as we kill a million acres of their crops. They must weep as the bulldozers roar through their areas preparing to destroy the precious trees. They wander into the hospitals with at least twenty casualties from American firepower for one Vietcong-inflicted injury. So far we may have killed a million of them, mostly children. They wander into the towns and see thousands of the children, homeless, without clothes, running in packs on the streets like animals. They see the children degraded by our soldiers as they beg for food. They see the children selling their sisters to our soldiers, soliciting for their mothers. " The speech is "Beyond Vietnam," Dr. King's speech delivered on April 4, 1967.

Really impressed by Kenji Yoshino's work on allyship at the second NAIS general session. This empathy triangle is very helpful!
The Empathy Triangle as developed by the Meltzer Center. It shows three broad triangles (Affected Person in a purple triangle, Ally in a brown triangle, and Source in a blue triangle) with prompt questions for each.

Did an early friendsgiving, and I am pleased to say most of the things I made turned out well, with the exception of a plant-based mashed potato that reheated awkwardly. Ordered a few things and made green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, Brussels sprouts!
Friendsgiving dinner including turkey two ways, roasted Brussels sprouts with pomegranate seeds, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole with mini marshmallows and a pecan walnut crumble, cornbread and wild rice stuffing, and a traditional sage stuffing.
