Listening now to Lorien Testard’s generational work on the soundtrack I’m realising I owe it to myself to find the time for a second playthrough. It deserves every one of its flowers (before they wither and die) (2/2)
Has to be the most underwhelming day of premier league action in recent history

Manchester United aren’t a serious football club. Posting at half time seriously hoping I’m proven wrong by full time

What can actually be done about this?

Redknapp and Sturridge in a Sky Sports video saying Liverpool having a “mini crisis” is so indicative of how sensationalist punditry has become. If the only interesting input you have relies on inventing a crisis then maybe time for some new pundits

@skillup.bsky.social are you still reviewing Ghost of Yotei? Keen to hear your thoughts

So imagine if someone could jettison you to low/mid way up the ladder of your dream career, but for the cost of them taking 10% of what you earn after tax forever. I’d take that deal where I’m at in my life right now

Would love to see whether playtesting would correlate difficulty concerns with those who tended to persist against a challenge rather than coming back later. This feels similar to the discussion around Elden Ring’s difficulty - both can be made easier by making progress elsewhere
In a newly published interview from Australian screen museum ACMI, Ari Gibson and William Pellen of Team Cherry shared that a greater degree of freedom, a more open world, and a highly capable protagonist informed the higher degree of challenge in Silksong.

A newly published interview with Team Cherry has provided some insight into the developer's intent behind the difficulty of Silksong.

Asa Germann could totally play a Dwight Schrute teenage origin story

I reckon I’m about midway through Silksong now - I don’t know what the on-ramp is like for players new to HK but I personally am so glad it’s as difficult as it is in some places. Imagine waiting all this time and then it ends up a cakewalk. It’s such a fun moveset to master and the friction helps

Oh man @teamcherry.bsky.social why did you have to make that particular dance so sad

Chelsea fans already seeing that giving Garnacho ANY kind of defensive responsibility will cause issues

@gearboxofficial.bsky.social are there plans to add an FOV slider to console versions of the game? Serious motion sickness being experienced by many, myself included

My favourite @auntydonnaboys.bsky.social podcast episodes are when they spend an inordinate amount of time agreeing the rules for the next episode to make it better, only for it to end up worse. Great work boys

Holy shit guys my carton of milk goes off after Silksong releases, that’s how close it is

The “COD-killer” discussion is sorta detestable at this point, but to ignore it completely is reckless as it doesn’t recognise the fact that many gamers will only buy one or two games per year. If only one of them is going to be a AAA shooter then BFvCOD is always going to be a thing

Just nipped back from 2030. A couple of updates for you guys:
- GTA6 Online fully maintained by AI
- Fortnite finally recognised as a religion in the UK census
- FromSoftware working on gothic Peppa Pig soulslike
- Fans eagerly awaiting the next 10 seconds of Silksong gameplay at the Game Awards

But of course the woman who points her cctv at the play park over the fence, and locks the nearest gate to that park at 9pm, has a massive Reform UK flag waving over…the play park

I’d love to say “it’s just how United do business, there’ll be more signatures before the end of the window”, but we’ve been here before with past windows and seeing other prem clubs announce their 5th,6th,7th signing while we’re sat with one still does concern me

This is the most old man thing I’ve ever said, but I’d vote for a party that would bring in a legal decibel limit past certain hours for cars within a certain radius of houses that aren’t your own. Live on a street more than 2m long and it’s constant up and down chavmobiles

I played through Expedition 33 basically silent; after baby’s bedtime was my gaming time, and I think any parent will relate to the sheer dread of waking their baby. I have headphones, but was scared I wouldn’t hear the baby monitor…(1/2)

Interesting game design problem Nintendo have with Mariokart World I think. Many calling for removing intermissions from online lobbies (or at least more power to avoid them). YouTube is so busy at the moment with people finding insane new cuts using charge jump, feather, wallrides, rails etc… (1/2)

Surely I’m missing a trick with the Apple swipe keyboard…like there’s no way it seriously thinks I want to say ABBA in the middle of a sentence instead of “and”

I honestly think you could set up a consultancy firm on how to make FPS’s feel good on controller. So many indie and smaller games that I’ve just bounced off because the controller feels off

Had a dream last night that Frank Lampard was the new leader of the opposition. I’ve no idea how he leans politically or whether he’d be any good but I remember being CONVINCED it was a considerable upgrade, the best in years, and I don’t think I was wrong

Easy to overlook as it’s not a new medium but you really can’t overstate the impact of YouTubers and streamers on game sales.

I’ll confidently say that about 80% of the time I put money down it’s because Skill Up, Jacob Geller, or Northernlion have featured the game, amongst others
