Of bigger concern is the risk of rain/freezing rain this evening. While air temperatures may approach the freezing point, surface temperatures will lag. Therefore, expect slippery/icy conditions this evening, particularly on untreated roads, sidewalks, etc.

Like with the last system, a sharp gradient in snow totals is expected over Dane County with several inches forecast north of Madison and much less toward the southern part of the county. Madison proper may see 1-2 inches of snow from this system but there's still a fair amount of uncertainty.
