One of my bigger issues with the show is how Holden is portrayed. It doesn't present him as an idiot nearly enough.

The books make it abundantly clear that Holden has a bad habit of forgetting that there are consequences to his actions and that those moments seem to run head first into his naivety.

I love how the books and shows contextualize the motivations and actions of the villains with history and anthropology. Like Murtry justifying his actions because civilization and laws won't really exist on Ilus for years, probably decades.

That moment was so good!

I just finished The Vital Abyss, the novella between Nemesis Games (favourite book in the series) and Babylon's Ashes.

I'll ask you the same question I ask everyone who's watched the show:

Who's your favourite character and why is it Amos?

I'm just re-reading the books at the moment. It's an easy recommendation if you liked the show.

My take has always been that sound quality is not an issue if your primary audio source is a phone because it will not be high quality.

This is why I don't really get the headphone jack complaint on phones. The quality lost is negligible from wired to Bluetooth in the quality ranges available.

You'll be disliking them again before the end of the week.

Also him sounding like a disappointed father at the heel turn was chef's kiss

That's a great shout.

One of these days I'll stop being lazy and I'll learn the nix package manager so that I can bypass all this guff about different distros lol.

I took Linux mint off my recommended list primarily because it can take an age to get security patches into its repos.

I know one could add more bleeding edge repos to work around it, but that solution causes more problems than it solves in my experience.

Last time I remember any buzz around MLW was when they started that reboot of Lucha Underground but with pretty much none of the talent that the LU faithful tuned in for.

TNA had a flicker of hype right before Scott Damore left and I haven't heard more than a peep since then.

Counterargument: They should try to fill the Principality Stadium in Cardiff

It honestly depends on who I'm talking and what hardware they're rocking.

A friend of mine has a machine that's still on Windows 7, so I've recommended LUbuntu to him.

If someone had more modern (non-nvidia) hardware and were just starting out, I'd recommend KUbuntu.

Otherwise I recommend PopOS!

I love that man so much and I cannot wait for him to get back on TV.

Sorry, I know it's nothing to do with what's going on. I have a compulsion where I have to link to Ed Byrne talking about the song whenever the opportunity comes along:

Oh good shout. My only exposure to that has been Evil Uno's posts.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. I don't even have enough time for Dynamite and Collision each week.

Honestly, I've found that the simplest answers are usually the best when it comes to talking with people who don't like your preferred wrestling show.

For some reason 'its not for me' and 'I just like it' take more wind out of their sails than actually explaining deeper. It's quite satisfying.

Speaking of, what indies (if any) are you watching?

I fell off hard after SpeakingOut but it's something I'd like to make time for again.

As someone who was a TNA fan when they were at their most popular, it's fascinating seeing that the exact same points made against the number 2 wrestling company in America haven't changed in all this time. There's more money to be made off hating AEW now than there was against TNA way back when.
