I remember the pictures in Life Magazine of kids in iron lungs. I was scared, just as every kid’s parents were scared. Then, when I was five, my school was picked as a test center for the brand new polio vaccine. Three shots and no one complained. We proudly wore the title Polio Pioneers.

And all the folks who voted for the beast saying, we’ll take back our country, just now realizing the programs they’ve been relying on all along are on the chopping block.

Done and done. Thanks

But the beast won by a bare 1.6 points. So almost half of us haven’t swallowed the koolaid and we are licking our wounds, biding our times, trying to recover, and get ourselves ready for the next phase.

He’s saving his and his coworkers’ asses. We’ve got a fired up despot on the horizon who’s out for blood.

So glad you are writing about this. As a retired English professor, I lament the general lack of critical thinking in all aspects of life.
