Have we ever stopped and actually questioned why all the coaches in high school were the ones teaching history classes? Like you’d never see a math teacher coming in 20 minutes late cause Daniel needed time to finish his PBnJ but when it comes to literal world history we just kinda shrug it off :P

I think its important not to conflate ignorance with malice. The majority of the country prefers hate and hierarchy over change and equality, and pretending like there has just been centuries of oppression because “We didn’t know better” is downplaying the oppression in a dangerous way
