Thames Water are digging up my dad's road so at 7am everyone on the street got a note telling them to move their cars then at 8am all the cars got parking tickets.

Mate went to see a therapist as he was worried as a gay man that he couldn't find lasting love. She told him to go to the opera and 'hang about the bar afterwards'. He didn't go back to see her (and missed the next appointment as he was in bed with a bloke he picked up in a club).
