Transwoman otaku, doll afficienado, Sōtō practioner when I remember, may someday post something worth looking at (art probably)
My going theory on all Avatar riffing is people who are so online and weird they don't know anyone in the general population.

Knowing a lot of well, relatively normal folks and lemme tell ya, they love Jake Sully and his family.

So I heard the US may get Boxing Day now? Are we finally going to be a real English colonly descended country?

Idea, Mahomes/Kelce are the Demiurge and/or Simulacra of Brady and Gronk.

#1. 2006 Visual Kei Loving Me is B A C K
#2. I wonder if YouTube pulls from bands artists are in, because I couldn't have listened to the Bokurano themes that much, but add in See-Saw and Ishikawa-san is near omnipresent.
#3. FIRE BOMBER owns
#4. And of course somehow John Williams

I will never understand what people saw in Harry Potter. At the height of Pottermania we were a Tolkien household, so I was reading The Silmarillion and The Book of Lost Tales. Tried reading them in university and was so bored by the first book I stopped reading and went back to a book on the Inca.

I guess I should have dated and tried to find a partner when I was in my 20s (when I had no job and could not find one despite looking) because everyone I know is coupled, cannot meet anyone single.

I have very particular lifestyle and hobby decisions, and philosophical beliefs, that preclude apps.

It's interesting seeing someone argue that we can accurately understand the past because of how a fiction writer perceived and wrote about his world (Dickens in this case).

You can understand how that individual understood their world, but quite frankly that does not mean it is the real.

Despite going to a few events I still don't understand the appeal of most live music.

Swans was fun the few times I saw them I guess, Godspeed has a good visual portion usually, symphonies are cool. But generally? I just get bored. Never anyone to go with either, all my friends have different taste

I love how the main character in Dark Cloud is basically Hispanic and from a village best described as Peruvian-Mexico.

Llamas and luchadores in the same place. And the little old lady you leave your items with looks like my bisabuelita/abuela/mom (Peruvian/Panamanian).

Listening to Eminem Guys and remembering that I do not know a single Eminem song.

Went to the Christmas Parade after a fish fry and a beer where there was a humorous but somewhat heavy conversation about our lives, brought cider to the parade, very Joe Pera Talks to You sort of day.

Wonder which really good Adult Swim shows will be on the chopping block this time.

Every other merger has seen one beloved tent pole or another killed off. Hope it's just Rick and Morty, that show is trash and always has been.

One of the more annoying things in my life is that of my friends, I am the only one to actually have a degree and with one exception I am also have the lowest income by minimum $1k, while actually working in the field I studied.

Don't go into archaeology. It's boring and pays very poorly.

As someone with OCD who used to obsessively count calories: counting calories, macros and micros for vanity reasons is legitimately deranged and that US society loves it is just another red mark on the cultural grading sheet.

I cannot read anything "serious" on this website because the level of discourse is "screaming ninnies (poor grammar/spelling/capitalization)" and "screaming ninnies (verbose)" yelling at each other in emotion-fueled, meaningless discursive arguments.

Which is the internet writ large.

It's really cool how my anxiety disorder combines with very real fears of niece getting a disease because my brother is an idiot and someone I care about getting stranded outside the country causing paralysis and lack of work drive, because of how people like my grandparents and the old man voted.

Is Post Malone country now? The heck.

Also, Post Malone still kinda sucks.

If you live in a large city "third spaces" have not been eliminated.

Unclear why this is a widespread belief online, maybe because it seems most just receive their opinions from some ignorant influencer. Heck, going back to the book that defined the concept, it mostly meant bars. Which are common.

Goodness I cannot stand Doctorow.

One time a friend recommended attending a Buddhist temple (I am Buddhist) to find a partner.

I don't think he really gets Buddhism, or how, in my experience, those spaces feel. Unlike the Christian sect we grew up in they're not trying to pair up singles. Kinda counter to the Dharma really.

It is incredibly odd how it seems many, many people around my age all have the exact same hobbies, all of them seemingly quite popular on social media.

Pickleball, climbing gym, dance classes. Like, I would discount it as weird online people if not for the multiple colleagues and others I know.

It's really interesting from a philosophical and introspective perspective to hear discussions of concepts like "first love" and "first heartbreak" as if they are developmental stages.

34 years of age and yet to experience either.

Reading dating subforums on Reddit and that is a cohort with some extremely bizarre views on... Well everything.

Biological determinist, hard realist arch-hierarchists is the best description. Just an utterly baffling bunch unable to see that it's their above stated views that are their problems.

Gonna be honest, doing data entry of hand written forms right now and an em-dash is not the mark of LLMs that people online think.

More a mark of the sort of academic writing that was likely scraped to build the models.
