It’s worth noting I didn’t release ‘The Midwife in the Middle’ until the end of July this year. I’m working on its sequel and other writing projects. I’m also going to work on getting audiobooks done so stay tuned!

I’m pretty pleased with the amount I’ve sold this year at in person events. This was my first year selling books at events and I’ve learnt a lot. This is partially through my own trial and error but it’s also due to some of the brilliant authors and other vendors I’ve met at these events.

I am delighted to say that I have finished the first draft of the sequel to 'The Midwife in the Middle'! I started this in June after finishing its predecessor. Despite major life upheaval, spells of debilitating sickness, and the usual hijinks I've managed to get to this point!

This week I’ve been quite busy with the usual stuff but also preparing for 6 weekends in a row where I’ll be doing something activity intensive. I do feel I’m on the home stretch with the first draft of the sequel to ‘The Midwife in the Middle’ at long last so that’s exciting!

I hate when people trash on genres as a whole. Yes, there are badly written books out there but don’t 💩💩 the whole thing! This is such an issue with romance especially: I notice a lot of people trash it for no good reason.

The week didn’t go as planned with a pretty awful migraine at the start of the week that took a while to recover from, a hospital appointment that took 3 hours to reach on Friday, and a visit to a good friend yesterday.

The events of the past few months have caught up to be physically & emotionally but I’m trucking on with my writing! I wanted to start telling people how much I’m writing every week. This is partially to create a sense of accountability for myself but also so you folks can see how I make progress!

To create a sense of accoundability for myself and to give a preview as to what projects I have going on, I've created a Work In Progress page on my website! Hopefully this will decease the chance of me running off with a stray idea* and allow me to revisit previously abandoned work.

Honestly? I didn’t start as the best writer in the world when I pursued writing but I’ve gotten better with time, practice, and hard work. With things like generative AI, you don’t learn a thing. You stay stagnant, or worse, degrade.
