No one in the administration has the mental flexibility to do anything other than double down.

The last time I heard this argument, the person making it was Marie Le Pen.

And this is what you see in GOP-dominated states. Trump is hardly unique among Republicans these days; the embrace of anti-democratic authoritarianism runs deep.

I'm finally going to post, because I've seen some really naive takes on voter suppression in Texas and how it can't possibly have any kind of meaningful impact on voting. (You might wonder why Republicans bother!) Anyway, this is what a successful Dem get-out-the-vote effort looks like in Texas:
Former Democratic state House candidate among nine indicted for alleged vote harvesting in South Texas
The charges are the latest escalation in a probe that resulted in Texas authorities indicting six other Frio County area officials in May.

Yeah, it’s trash. I live in a state where political donations are unlimited in most cases, and the ruling party consists of 3-4 factions, each backed by a different billionaire. Not surprisingly, policy is completely divorced from the needs of the public.

I feel like this was a unappreciated dynamic with the housing bubble: At the time, it was pretty much the only thing in the economy that was going great guns, and that created a solid motivation for the Bush Administration to let it run.

I just don’t know what’s going on with The Atlantic in Trump II. Even if this profile picks RFK Jr apart, what have we learned? He’s an unqualified crackpot—that’s hardly new information.

I think “massive labor reforms would make it possible!” kind of makes my point. Thank you.

I’d think the main issue would be labor….

I wanted to add muscle mass, so I started eating a protein bar, or a shake, or Greek yogurt after each exercise session, and that worked great for me. Genetics are going to affect everything, but I would suggest starting there—you may not need anything more.

I once was going to make a lemon meringue pie & the grocery store had yuzus on sale, so I figured why not? Then when I cut them open, they were totally dry inside! So I wound up using the bottled lemon juice I had on hand and zesting all I could possibly zest—it turned out great! (Whew!)

Double the zest?

This is what’s going on with lot of these RW people who sort of explode onto the scene—they’ve basically been scouted by one of a handful of well-connected RW billionaires and offered financial security in exchange for being a puppet. That crazy OK school superintendent? Property of Tim Dunn.

Standard practice for Republican AGs in red states. This is what we have to fight against, because they do not hesitate to deploy state power for partisan ends.

Yeah, I dunno why people get upset when they say “Child rape is bad” and pundits reply, “That depends on who is the child and who is the rapist.” A mystery.
