The best thing that administrators can do is acknowledge when the teacher has tried everything they can and admin needs to step in and be supportive.
At the end of the day when I spoke again with the principal the message was: they all know what they should be doing during instructional time. If any student is disruptive, send them out.

As we stood in the hallway for the conversation I could hear the rest of the class getting out of control. It’s not just a one student issue. There are many issues and many students struggling.

Most of my interactions regarding the student have been with the VP. At the end of the class the Principal brought the student back to the classroom for a conversation. Hopefully the student understands not to interrupt the learning space now.

Last week the Principal was the only admin in the building. I’ve been working through progressive discipline with various students in the class. I sent a student to the office who was consistently interrupting the learning space/ instruction.
