Navy Vet here. Militarily, to invade a sovereign nation & kidnap its leader is stupid. The Op succeeded but, like Bay of Pigs was a poorly thought-out tactic in a strategic vacuum. What's the end game? What about retaliation? Will Americans be sent to war? Will you be safe outside the country?

Just watched House of Dynamite. Very good movie, strongly recommended. It’s scary as hell. When you watch it, ask yourself what it would be like if the depicted scenario involved members of the current Republican Administration and the Republican-led houses of Congress.
