The UK is in a low-growth rut, with real GDP per head last year little changed from five years ago.
A successful and durable strategy for lifting growth must focus on supply-side policies, i.e. those that lift potential growth.

Budget 2024 (1)

The Budget includes sizeable increases versus the March Budget plans for current and capital spending, large tax hikes, and new fiscal rules. Fiscal policy in coming years will tighten significantly, but by less than implied in the March Budget plans.
