Their board knows they are a meme stock, and without him and his fanboys and fluffers, they fall back to being just a car company. He, sadly, was a multiplier for them. Otherwise no sane person would buy their stock with those asinine PE ratios.

They buy puts on the market. He crashes the market making those puts super valuable. They sell those puts. They buy calls, he announces that the tariffs are delayed, market goes up, calls get valuable and they sell. Repeat ad infinitum.

As far as the economy, that soft power is gone. Even if he did a 180 we are now an unreliable, unpredictable trading partner.
