Ah yes because of course wildfires never happen south of the border…

Thanks but no thanks

Because people don’t care about children and school staff as long as they are out of the way, and don’t want to pay taxes to invest in proper buildings and smaller class sizes

My 20 yo is on exchange in Japan and he texted to thank me for the book he’s reading on the train (which I got for him after reading it was his fave filmmaker’s fave book)

Exactly. But Doug is totally fine with high turnover of newer, less expensive teachers. He doesn’t care if they don’t stay in education and he doesn’t care what that means for students.

Very obvious to those of us IN schools. Doug doesn’t care about your kids.

I swear this happens all summer when I want to float around enjoying the silence in the pool 😐

I mean, that’s literally what he’s been paid to do for years now. That and hide.

A newcomer student asked me yesterday when it would be summer and I told her one day it will just be hot. There’s nothing in between winter and hot.

Here fortunately grades 7/8 (and often junior) have specialist music/french/phys ed teacher. But we’ve stopped most rotary so the hr teacher does all core subjects, which I don’t really agree with. I’d be an awesome (qualified) English teacher, not so much Int math!

Here the homeroom teacher often teaches music and/or phys ed. It’s really just a “who’s available to cover that period”. And while I get what you are saying, I think it’s also important kids have specialty subjects taught by teachers passionate/knowledgeable about the topic. Me+music is not that

My board just invested in Language program for K-2. There are workbooks but we were not given class sets. And they won’t be replaced each year. Sooooo, they go to waste.

There are some resources on TVO Learn—neither SS nor Language have been updated to the curricula released going on 2 yrs now. So, we were expected to teach it right away but MOE is taking YEARS to update their (incomplete) resources! 😒

All due respect, they absolutely did—it’s not like he was competent the first go-round! Honestly it’s WORSE anyone voted for him (or didn’t vote at all) A SECOND TIME!
