We need our Regional Councils to protect our environment. It is central government that needs to be reformed first. There are too many ministries gobbling up money that could be directed to local government. Look at Scandinavian countries of a similar population size and strong local government.

The latest Financial Accounts from Treasury show Health New Zealand had an extra half a billion dollars forecasted to spend on health. Where did the money go? Pay rises for nurses? More doctors? Fixing rat ridden hospitals? Free prescriptions? Do we get this money back? This is beyond belief!

The Capital Gains Tax! Goodness misinformation is flowing especially from the other side of the political spectrum. Just like the Future Fund this is a start. It can be developed overtime and careful listening shows Labour understands this fact. We need to accept that nothing remains static!

The Right to Repair Bill has been binned. Also resources from the Parliamentary Counsel and departmental advisors to explore and draft changes in order to make the Bill more digestible to the Government have been binned. Also more unfixable objects will be binned to our over stretched land fills.

Why are we still using bottom trawling in commercial fishing? We are destroying our oceans, exacerbating climate change and putting our food security at risk. We have strong values in Aotearoa and I believe we are better than this destructive environmental practice. What about our future legacy?

How can we trust our MPs to make good and fair decisions around housing when they have so many properties hidden in family trusts. I believe this is a conflict of interest. We have a housing problem and a CGT would help according to experts. Are MPs going to vote for one? I doubt it!
