General online public comment has begun.

They're on online student comment first. 10 minutes left for public comment.

Looks like this group is making their public comment regardless? Don't appear to be at the actual mic. They're done now.

In-person public comment is done. There is disorder in the audience as audience members demand the right to speak. They don't want SFUSD to jump to online comment. They gave the Board something.

They're on non-student, in-person public comment now.

Had to head home. They resumed the meeting, apparently everything was safe. They're still discussing the budget. The 2nd interim report should be presented at the 3/11 meeting.

Smell of something burning. They're pausing the meeting. Back at 8:45pm

Had to feed my baby (still in the middle of that) during virtual comment, which has just ended. I was able to give comment over Zoom. They're taking comment from the designated union representatives now (no time limit for those folks per contract agreements)

Last public comment in person was a student worried about access to required classes for graduation and admittance to colleges as well as decreased access to electives and APs.
February 26, 2025 at 3:49 AM
They're moving to virtual comment for students now.

Students really on their school nurses and social workers. Moving to a staffing model that has nurses and social workers covering multiple sites means that students won't have regular access to those supports in an emergency!

Tons of concerns about split grade classes at the elementary level. Split grade classes make it so much harder for students to get what they need and they often fall behind.

Many impassioned please to protect the supports for our queer students, English learner students, and most marginalized students!
February 26, 2025 at 3:36 AM
Apparently none of the schools have been allocated a school nurse! Or nurses save lives!
February 26, 2025 at 3:33 AM
Public comment is still going strong. Most are calling to keep cuts away from schools and students
