Sure, but have you tried playing Galbadia Garden without No Enc? I don't wish that on anyone. I think FF8 is somewhat saved from having the consensus worst dungeons in the series by being able to turn off encounters even back on the PS1. That and the fact that Ultimecia's Castle genuinely slaps.

Unfortunately I am already super addicted to chess and I feel like this would be like that time I got moderately okay at Guitar Hero 2 and then tried playing Guitar Hero 3 and the fact that the notes looked slightly different totally fucked up my brain and I couldn't stand playing it.
