I had a similar revelation with Facebook many years ago. Thankfully, I was solicited to join a paid university study to deactivate my account for a month and after that I never once felt the urge to spend time there again.

If you're into the setting of Control I'd recommend turning on some of the accessibility options so you don't have to worry about combat. The vibe and story are the best parts, imo.
