It’s like that + a lot of the ZA characters vibe wise feel like they just wanted to make actually good versions of the XY characters that do nothing, like how all of the gym leaders and friend rivals just *exist*

Already one of my favorite characters from what I’ve seen and it’s a really cool way to expand upon an otherwise forgettable character to make her super interesting.

I can say as someone who has drawn and been around this kind of stuff for a while that it’s very common for people to not be shy in vocalizing their distaste for such topics. From my experience it only really skews perception if you simply ignore the empty “I don’t like that she popped” comments.

It's funny that I sometimes worry about scaring people off whenever I venture into darker tones with my art but generally the audience I've cultivated is mostly supportive about it and neutral at worst. I'm pretty thankful for that.
