Boro girl, mostly writing books & watching sport - Warwickshire & LFC.
I took some Hundred playing shirts out to The Gambia last week. The staff at the nursery school where I’m a trustee thought they were great. Although I suspect they weren’t entirely sure what cricket is. As always, it was a fun and uplifting visit. #TheHundred

A wonderful, spontaneous and emotional moment after the match when Mo Salah conducted the Kop singing the Diogo Jota song. A lone figure, last down the tunnel, visibly moved.
An emotional evening. So loud. Absolutely bonkers when Chiesa scored. What a start to the season ❤️

So exciting to catch up last night with Brad and Holly Carter at their new restaurant Island in Mare Street Market at Coal Drops Yard. Amazing food, service & vibe. All the creativity & warmth we love about Carters - now in the capital. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend #coaldropsyard #london

Great to hear stories from the panel of women’s association cricket experts this morning. Thank you Lacuna Sports for hosting and congratulations on your excellent presence this summer at #SOOOLDN
245 Regent Street for a superb selection of women’s sports kit and equipment. And a great vibe.

In amongst the families, sequins & cowboy hats last night for Dua Lipa, there were a few groups of lads. You could tell, they were the lads who flew to Poland in 2018 & sat on a bus to Kyiv for 10 hours. The lads for whom I wasn’t sure how One Kiss would land. But boy, did it land!! That moment 🙏

Fair play Dua Lipa. She’ll push through the rain. Would definitely pick her on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke! She did Anfield proud tonight. One Kiss twice in the rain! #DuaLipa #Anfield ❤️

A great day of sport! A super performance by the Warwickshire Women meant I could whoosh back along the A14 & get the bunting out for the boys returning from Anfield. Well done all. Happy days always make the tough times easier to bear!
My bunting won’t win awards - it’s the thought that counts!

Enjoyed the display of artefacts at London Bridge station, found during its redevelopment. Especially the multi purpose bodkin - a hairpin, needle & an instrument for picking ear wax to recycle in the threading process!

On International Women’s Day, there is no ‘happy’ for me this year. I see our rights, our lives, threatened everywhere I turn. Our skills undervalued, despised by many. Looking at the ‘top table’, we are everything that’s missing.
Thank you to those who DO support us.
Meanwhile, I’ve been reading……

Yes, there’s a lot going on but maybe we just need a moment of calm for a cat enjoying a session on a Pilates reformer. (Sound on for some great purring!)

Congratulations to my amazing nephew Ollie Adnitt on becoming the UK indoor heptathlon champion this weekend in Glasgow. Brilliant work, so pleased for Ollie (and the rest of Team Adnitt).

Damn - I knew I shouldn’t have eaten the special visitors bun before the match. To be fair, neither should the players!!

Nunez, Nunez, Nunez!!

Love him - when he ran to the corner flag I thought he was going to burst with joy.

Both times!

What a great end to the year to see this post from Middlesbrough Libraries. Wonderful to see that children in Middlesbrough are still enjoying reading ‘Parmo to the Rescue’. Their illustrations are fabulous. Happy New Year and Happy Reading in 2025!
