Daggerheart RPG

I have the pdf file retained on the computer so I can look at it whenever I forget why I don't want it
It's verbose, too much art, too little content
A 400 page mistake

And they begin mentioning that fucking X symbol crap at the beginning

Well the day has gone well

Didn't save some fabulously rich person's life though, so it has room to improve :)

My local toy store fiiiinally got my models in :)
Couple of British Trucks in 48th and a couple of tanks

I grabbed the Tamiya 48th scale Stuart
I've been bugging them for months hehe

I have sooo many cool things I might make for playing role games

And no one that needs them

Kinda sad really

Looks like I am just going to need to do the minimum make out the PC recrds and go through the motions of playing my games with my teddy bear Frank

Oh well he's excited to play at least

So, it was either the train the carrier model (which is nice) or the Tamiya Sherman M51 post war Israeli modification kit (always wanted one of this version)

But the train likely gets built when it gets here
With the models, who knows eh

I picked the steam engine

Presto and Merry Christmas :)

This is a 'sensible' purchase

Why?

I don't already have this type of steam angine already
November 27, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Now this is what I WANT

Had it once done by the genius hands of a past friend
So damned big at 350th scale
And his looked better than the one in this image

I sent it back home to him
I miss it

It was too big though
250 bucks to get it again
I doubt I am up to the challenge anymore
November 27, 2025 at 9:11 PM
It's nice at 600th scale, it won't be ginormous

It's nice at 80 bucks, I can afford it casually

I don't really normally do modern, but it was the original nuclear aircraft carrier

And it's name is Enterprise (it's a trekkie thing)

I don't 'need' it But I don't 'need' a lot of things
November 27, 2025 at 9:06 PM
So the tricky question is how much train do you need in the train set?

Empire Builder is likely too long it's nose touching it's tail
Or half the train 200 bucks more :)
That's not fair
Nice diesel set nice price
I don't care for diesels

Bigger than 2x3 as well
I just want a toy train in a box

RPG minis

Once you go past the party, it gets messy fast

Storage 3D is a real test
Transportation how not to damage them
Cost factor leaves 3D out

Tiles is ideal, storage in the hundreds printed in colour (no painting) Hard to damage
Better than paper standees (which get damaged easy

Neat eh

There's some really neat ideas in role gaming

This line of books is actually quite good

They generally have some one shot adventures and then several sections per book on the primary theme and sub-categories

I thought the Dungeons section of this one was quite good

The encounters tome is particular good with sections for the usual locations

Here in 2025 though and the competition for your attention is quite savage

Shadowdark is outstanding
But so is Vagabond
Basic Fantasy Role-playing is what Cyclopedia should have been
There are more than I can fit in this post
And there is life after D&D too :)
Warhammer FRPG anyone?
November 8, 2025 at 3:29 AM
The thing with Dungeons and Dragons is it comes in more flavours than Baskin Robbins :)

Several official editions and scores of clones
Some like more than others
Opinions abound :)

I prefer one book only variants of any design
OSRIC is hard to beat
Whitebox is the definition of brief and compact
November 8, 2025 at 3:19 AM
Maybe you just want the one book idea of Rules Cyclopedia

It is essentially all of early D&D in one book
The added perk is it has all of the Known World maps included

It's a dog for organization though

It being just one book the players might want one
Fortunately it is not expensive in 2025

I wonder should I be concerned? Maybe upset?

Or just sad

Thinking of getting out my Civilization board game and just playing all 4 sides against myself

I have the advantage of still being able to enjoy 'imaginary friends'

But it seems rather tragically lonely
Spectacular product
Hard to play

IF I was getting a tattoo it would be this one first

But, the thing with tattoos is once you have one, well they don't wash off

I am not judging those with tats, it's your body
I'm just not wanting to start something I suppose

For reference sake, it is a Celtic bunny

So many choices, but this is what I actually decided on

3 kits for my 48th scale collection and some minor support vessels for my Japanese navy
Went with Amazon this time
My Great Hobbies wishlist are all more expensive items
October 31, 2025 at 9:53 AM
This item is also trying to get my attention

No it's not the BigBoy

This is a 2-8-4 just not sure of the specific name of class
October 30, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Fun would be go back in time win a lottery buy 2-3 of EVERY Matchbox kit ever made new

And then leave it at that

I have no desire to change history
But a room full of Matchbox kits would be so cool
October 30, 2025 at 6:30 PM
But omg the selection

I don't think there are many companies today that have even half the number of kits that Matchbox put out in my youth

Hundreds of kits, just in planes it's so many
And they did many ships
Not just my favourite armour subjects
October 30, 2025 at 6:24 PM
I have this Matchbox Spitfire kit here recently built
I don't recall it being such a painfully plain model
I built several as a kid
They seemed 'better' back then :)

You can get a Tamiya in 72nd scale that is a dozen ways better

Not even a fair contest as kits go
October 30, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Matchbox kits are not always the best choice or even decent kits

I have this one. It was a dog to assemble
But it was 100% nostalgia and still part of my collection now
October 30, 2025 at 6:14 PM
I also have this crazy urge to get a few old Matchbox kits off of eBay just to get the diorama base in some cases

20 bucks for in most cases a 1 piece molded scap of terrain
As well as the model of course
Which in many cases I already have

I think I might be nuts
Likely am nuts

Plus others shown
October 30, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Do I fix the ring this month
Damn it I fixed it last month

Do I get a bunch of lesser models or something epic
Or not get any at all this month?

Do I get the Flex Track?
Am I really going to make the train layout?

Or spend a month enjoying eating?

1/48 and 1/200th
150 and 450 after tax
No Room
