I think that was part of the Blockbuster/Rental appeal really.

We do need a cheaper option for big budget AAA titles for people to just interact with them more. Used and Rental filled that void, but those died.

Honestly the 'Passively bingeable games' that would go crazy on Netflix for Games are already free or cheaper than a game pass Sub.

But if there was some sort of regulation that caused F2P or Micro Transactions to stop, the Netflix for Games would go crazy.

I did a lot of those this year and all mainly RPGs to avoid burnout.
FFX, E33, Deltarune, Oblivion Remastered.

But even then KH3 and FF7R are created in an environment where they have to justify there price tag and demand attention.

Part of the reason a lot of people are holding up E33 as a 'game changer' is because its a hit and does a lot of things that THE INDUSTRY says you can't do if you want to be a hit.

Some definition are like 'Prioritizes non-combat mechanics' or 'Bright and Calming Aesthetics' Etc. Which is cool and valid.

But then I hear other takes that boil down to 'Passes the Hays Code' and I go berserk.
