In a fuzzy poor quality picture, a tiny brown puppy in a narrow blue collar is attempting to chew a white knotted rawhide “bone”. This bone is longer than the puppy, and almost thicker. A pair of white clogs is in the left of the picture, and behind the puppy is a stack of laminate flooring boxes labelled ‘Floormaker Glueless’ (the end is cut off). The chew sits on an ugly brown rug, itself frayed from previous puppy attacks.

A picture taken from floor level in front of the lady chapel altar at Wells Cathedral. Ornate tiles are seen stretching off into the distance interwoven with narrow black tiles. The patterned tiles have heraldic shields on them. Beyond these is the vertical face of a step, featuring black tiles with yellow writing. Legible are the words ‘this is none other’ but this stretches into the distance and out of focus. Beyond this step in a statue of the Virgin Mary with infant Jesus carved in the same pale stone as the wall of the cathedral behind her. There is a flower arrangement on a plinth in front of her. Just visible in the top right corner of the picture is the bottom edge of a stained glass window. The floor of the lady chapel at Wells Cathedral. It is mostly a creamy white tile, but inset with elaborately patterned red, black, yellow and blue tiles. These make up a large square in the centre of the image, taken from the side so the square looks like a diamond. Little spots of red and white light are cast onto this square from the stained glass windows of the chapel (not in the shot). Nine wooden chairs sit facing the camera in two staggered rows towards the back of shot, beyond that the wall of the cathedral.

A picture of the recent Delta airlines flight 4819 crash at Toronto. The ground is covered in snow, and a small aircraft, minus its right wing, lies on its roof. The tail end on the right of the image is blackened, and the tail fin has either detached or buckled. The doorways are all open, the doors themselves placed down on the ground. The plane is in surprisingly good condition given its position. Healthier planes are seen in the background. Two people in orange hi-vis gear are standing by the plane near the nose end.

An old casement window set into a stone wall. The iron square lattice window is open, held with the curled latch. Beyond the window is a garden and some small houses which appear to have Tudor-style timber frames on the upper floors. The sky is a little overcast and cloudy.

A small pale green enamel pin sits affixed to a piece of khaki-coloured canvas, a thin brown leather strap just above it. The pin reads ‘If you can’t be kind, be quiet’, in all caps. (The canvas is my rucksack, though you can’t tell that from the picture.)

The Muppet Christmas Carol is, I believe, an immaculate film. But every time I watch it there is one moment that drives me NUTS. This extra clearly doesn’t know the dance she’s supposed to be doing, and it shows in her face. I’m annoyed that it happened, and that it made the edit.

I don’t even know where to begin… This is a screenshot of an Etsy advert on Facebook. It threatens that a purchase after December 3 may not arrive before Christmas. The picture is of some tattooed fingers wearing silver rings that look a little like multiple tree branches. Set into each ring are three human incisors, joined together by twisted dental braces metal. These things are hideous and definitely cursed. 7.1 thousand people have liked the advert.

Good morning (just)
A frankly offensively sugary coffee sits in a large white cup on a saucer, on which also rests a teaspoon. Drizzles of caramel syrup criss-cross the surface of the coffee and a couple of loops of syrup hang down the sides of the cup. The cup is branded ‘Bewiched’ coffee. The dot on the i is a star. The cup sits on an unpolished wooden table.

This morning I have been mostly cleaning this 30 year old little box of joy and installing a new board and screen. I’d forgotten how good solder smells 🤩
