Having now read this, the Pratt City section also strongly reminded me of our trip. It's one of those things where I did know the way they got miners, but I understand it better now I've read it in a story book. This is why I love historical fiction.

Also it boggled my mind that more people didn't figure out that you could hook up a VHS to a digital overhead projector.
