When is he coming over to Bluesky?
Am in no way an expert, but could s/he have eaten rat poison/warfarin and died from bleeding (internally?) with a cut to the eye not clotting? Just a guess. Poor chap/ess.

Just a thought, but if you have an Apple One sub you can read NG in e format on the Apple News app without the hassle of storing them.
