Tonight I was volunteering at the PS Cultural Center "Broadway Best in the West", with Tony nominee Max Von Essen. He has the most amazing voice and an adorable frenetic energy. His stories were great, and he closed with a touching tribute to Gavin Creel.

Today, I am volunteering at Frey House II for the launch of this year's Modernism Week!
Tonight we finished watching the BAFTA nominated 2023 films! (2024 awards).
The final film for us was "How to Have Sex". I'm not sure we learned much instruction, but I think it made us thankful that we are not young, straight British girls on the pull in a Greek resort!

Yesterday we saw the multi awards-nominated film "I'm Still Here". It's a powerful story, well worth a viewing. I'm not familiar enough with political history in Brazil, but the story didn't served as a timely reminder of the dangers of a government that is unchecked.
Go see it. 8 of 10 from me.

Today I joined an anti-Trump protest in Palm Desert. Maybe 200 people were there.
We were along a busy road where drivers would honk in support.
Perhaps the best result from the protest is the message to our local community, to the country, and to the world that the US has to do better.

While this country is crumbling around us, I choose to seek out the occasional distraction - and today's is a double feature of Dog Man and Wolf Man! Though they sound similar, I suspect these two movies will be miles apart. Have you seen them? What did you think?!
