Amazing: I was passionate about books period when I was growing up, but something happened after I found fanfic in my teens and my relationship with books was never quite the same, but! I am SO passionate about the Gorean Saga that I can just rave about it and feel cheered up when I think about it!

Finally. The novel is on my computer in a Word document and I can see just how I did, in fact, write an actual BOOK. It’s a fact that I can at last grasp.

I wrote my entire first novel in the Notes app on my iPhone so for almost the entire book I had no idea what the word count was and I just kept on going. I like to think that the story was meant to be the way it is and that it wasn’t just some accident of my own making.

So, of course after the briefest obligatory rest once I finish Book 1, I start #writing my 2nd #novel before I go to bed. The adventures of #Arland just continue without a pause. He’s someone I’m growing quite attached to, *especially* in the second #book.

So I found out that my book also belongs to a genre called “speculative fiction”, and I’m amazed at how many genres it applies to. Easily a handful. And besides that, I’m pioneering a new genre so I can feel secure in my creation being unique. :)

Cats really do give the best massages. My current cat-son, Rice, just applies a bit too much pressure for my liking. He could be great at deep tissue massage but I always boot him off before he can get too invested. 😂

Being a #novelist is like being a professional weightlifter—the massive burden we take on ourselves in the hopes of earning that prestige is just insane and all-consuming, and towards the end gets very wearing. I am that ambitious one who wants to be the world’s best weightlifter. Ouch.
