And how would it look any different to what is happening at the moment!

We could be, but until we are we shouldn't abandon the US altogether.

Trump's true support is evapourating and with it, the chance he will get away with his shit.
January 20, 2026 at 1:54 AM
He blocked me back on the other place for pointing out some of his lies/nonsense.

How these people got to positions where they are considered intellectuals is beyond me.

The reliance on the US needs to be addressed, but it should always be included in planning.

The US will definitely change, but the next POTUS wont be Trump. Which removes most of the problems.
January 19, 2026 at 11:49 PM
He will be fully aware of that now.

The problem is that his hands are tied given who Trump is and the weak position Starmer is in (politically & as the leader of a dwindling state). Also, the relationship between the US & the UK is more important than his distaste for the current President.
January 19, 2026 at 11:19 PM
I was going to say 100% of Reform MPs are something a lot less polite.
January 19, 2026 at 8:49 PM
This guy needs a back story.
January 19, 2026 at 4:46 PM
Many happy returns!
January 19, 2026 at 4:26 PM
When FIFA anmoujced their 'Peace Prize' which was clearly to fellate Trump, I thought the only way they could recover would have been to award it to Obama in front of Trump.

He doesn't care that he is undermining the US position as global leader, and destroying the finely balanced status quo that has largely kept World Wars in the history books.

He will get to rename Greenland as Trumpland and make $billions in the process.

So fuck everyone.
January 19, 2026 at 3:16 PM
Exactly what I thought.

Same as elections, the Constitution, the Courts, the Military etc.
January 19, 2026 at 12:24 PM
Isnt that the stuff that Erin Brockovich got the big payout for?!
January 18, 2026 at 4:15 PM
You are right, but it is easier said than done.

This needs a joint effort from all NATO/EU members to agree a response to Trump that tells him no and draws a line under this. It woll likely be painful as the tango man-baby will throw his toys out the pram, but it must be seen through.
January 17, 2026 at 7:31 PM
Sadly no. Anyway, tear gas is a nerve agent, milk helps mitigate its effects, mustard gas is made mustard (colmans specifically), london is full of no go zones etc etc etc..
January 16, 2026 at 3:12 PM
I still would not be surprised if he dropped out of the race at some point around 12 months before the GE. But I no longer think it is a certainty.

And yes, we need to do everything (excl. violence) to prevent the country ever being in this position again.
January 16, 2026 at 11:54 AM
Very true. Well now I feel miserable!
January 16, 2026 at 11:18 AM
Even as a 1 term PM, his stock would plummet as he will be shown as a total charlatan.

But then, the RW press would still fellate him so maybe I am.
being too optimistic.
January 16, 2026 at 11:13 AM
I may be wrong, and very hopeful that Farage will never be our PM. But it will be bad for Farage Plc if he actually had to deliver the bollocks he has spouted from the sidelines for the last 20 years.

And it seems reasonable to bank on Farage doing what is best for Farage over & above all.
January 16, 2026 at 11:05 AM
They wouldn't be better than him (though cant see how they would be worse), but none of them (likely by design) can attract the same level of support as him.

I wouod expect that they can't overthrow him, but they dont have to support him.
January 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM
Shit.... I have to make some calls...!
January 16, 2026 at 10:34 AM
Because they have shown they will leave a sinking ship at the first hint of it being in their interest. Stabbing Farage in the back will be in their interest sooner rather than later, because he will show the world he is useless.
January 16, 2026 at 10:24 AM
Very true. But he would need to remain PM.

Within a very short time if getting any real responsibility, Farage would be found out for the fraud he is. Then his 'Party' (and particularly his very ambitious but completely unqualified new signing Jenrick) would turn on him.
January 16, 2026 at 10:06 AM
Unless his goal is not to get into No 10.

If he becomes PM, his whole business model disappears overnight. He is smart enough to know this.
