Post the pattern # and/or the pieces of the pattern that you don't understand.

I recommend purchasing a magnet to attached to a telescoping pole for less than $20. It gets even the pins and needles that roll under furniture.

I was taught to do the same but it could be that the sewing machines back then were a bit more rugged? Or the teachers were taught incorrectly.

What is a coat bath? And why two tubs in the bathroom?

If it's a washable Clover pen, soak in warm water with a few drops of Dawn soap added to the water. Let it soak for a few hours. Try this before adding other chemicals to the quilt fabric.

The Old Stone Mill fabric sale is a great place to pick up quilt fabric. The usual price is $4 a pound. There are also fill-a-bag sales, notions, patterns, etc. I volunteer at the sale, just ask for Lisa.

Thank you! I'm in Western Mass. If you're close enough to Adams, MA, the Old Stone Mill is having their fall fabric sale October 11th and 18th from 10am to 3pm at 2A Grove Street in Adams.

I just learned that all seasons of The Great British Sewing Bee are now steaming on The Roku Channel. I imagine that there are commercials BUT you can now watch GBSB in the US!

Unfortunately, it's not streaming in the US. You would need to have a VPN or download it via torrent. There are 12(?) seasons and it's such a lovely show. I don't know why it's not been picked up to stream in the US.

Those other systems look very interesting. I found this discussion about Epson: www.reddit.com/r/budgetproj.... From the video, it appears to work the same way as Ditto. I'm not limited as to which pattern brand I use and I do like how I can move the pieces around in the software before cutting.

I managed to pick up a Ditto machine for only $15 on the last day of Joanne's. The machine/software isn't perfect but it's a joy to not cut out paper patterns. If you can find a place with a large enough scanner, you can scan your existing paper patterns and save them to PDF for Ditto.

If it's a water-soluble ink on cotton cloth, soak it in a bowl/sink of warm water with just several drops of baby shampoo. Let it soak for several hours. This method works for me every time.

Thank you so much for this great information!

Sewing brought me moments of peace through my Mom's short illness and death last year. Your quilted piece is beautiful and if your Mom enjoyed beautiful things, she would have been filled with joy and pride over the beauty that you've created.
