Sorry, I was coming from a "Christianese" perspective & should have been clear. They're doing what Jesus accused the Pharisees of doing, using their faith to justify actions he condemned. He said they held the language but not the sentiment. Not meant to offend, only to speak in their terms. ❤

I've had so many of these same conversations. I believe God is ultimately in control, but I also believe God allows us self-determination. Believing God is in control and allows bad things doesn't justify putting our stamp of approval on the atrocities. That's the same cop-out the Pharisees used.
