The inherited ones that we know about are the ones we test for. Unfortunately there are other mutations which can occur randomly and for reasons unknown. I’m sorry you’re going through such a horrendous time

I geek out when it comes to genetics. In my past life (I was a congenital/inherited heart disease specialist nurse) genetic testing was a relatively new phenomenon

I know, but is it possible to stop some genetic mutations without affecting others? I’m not suggesting that we shouldn’t aim to cure cancer..there’s just a very fine line as to what and how

Well I know it occurs as a result of environmental adaptation and genetic mutations. My question was, if we fix the genetic mutations which cause cancer, do we risk stopping human evolution?

This absolutely baffles me. Our healthcare system is far from perfect however I can see a doctor without having to worry about affording my co-pay.
