Haven’t posted in a while, as it’s sometimes hard to stay cheery during cancer treatment. Two wks ago I completed 20 radiation treatments and my burns are thankfully healing nicely. Really wish it would be done and over with now, but I still need infusions every 3 weeks until Oct. Tis a long road.

Took a big step tonight. Decided to end 2024 by taking back control instead of letting the cancer continue to take little bits of me. After weeks of painstakingly watching my hair fall out in the shower, tonight my husband and daughter helped me shave my head. 💪 4 more chemo treatments to go.

After 4 doses of chemo, my hair is really starting to thin out. Although I’m a little freaked out at the thought of being bald, it’s oddly satisfying seeing it come out. Weird. 🧐

Something I didn’t know about chemotherapy before I started going through it myself = insomnia!! I have to take steroids to prevent side effects, but the steroids make it impossible to get a full night sleep! 🫣🥱😳

I am proof why breast screenings should be done at a lower age. No family history and I had zero lumps and zero symptoms. Got my first mammogram at 40 y/o in Aug knowing screening age was dropping. Diagnosed Stage 1 HER2+ breast cancer.
