Family portrait of the Aylesbury peregrines and their three eggs! A fascinating pair to watch. Let’s hope all eggs are viable this year 🤞
RIP pigeon.

Cor!! An outstanding book haul from the Oxfam today!
Delighted to find The Night Of The Hunter, being one of my favourite films I have shamefully not yet read the book. No more! Shame be gone!
The Philip K Dick perhaps a little too prescient at the moment…

My favourite photo, so far, from my ongoing documentary project on the memorial outlook in Whitby ‘Remember Me To One Who Lives There’.

Two absolutely smashing nights on the trot at @100clublondon.bsky.social for Subhumans and UK Subs as part of the Resolution Punk Festival. I got one very bad photo of the legend that is Charlie Harper. Both nights absolutely cracking, live music venues are so important to the cultural fabric!

It’s under the working title of ‘Remember Me To One Who Lives There’ and I am interested in conveying what this overlook means to people and how it has become a place where both love and loss are memorialised. The sea is the cruelest against the rocks on East Cliff and the church and Abbey loom over

A few years ago I began a documentary photography project on East Cliff in Whitby. There’s an overlook that has become the place where memorials and love locks are placed and I’ve been documenting it’s evolution and seasons. It’s a long term project and here are some of my winter/Christmas Day shots

This was part of the extremely modest display. Burns me up, it really does.

Middle class gatekeeping of the creative world (and *especially* when playing poverty tourist in working class contexts!) is the bane and strangulation of working class expression and narratives.

First two books of 2025 and two very different slices of Japanese fiction, from immaculate noir sleuthing to pure mind bending surrealism!
What next?!

Not posted my photos for a wee bit but finally uploaded a bunch from the gloomiest of all December days out East, so back at it.

Cracking charity shop book coup. 70s sci-fi in the vein of the Johns of apocalyptic doom: Christopher and Wyndham.
Penguin orange cover 1962 edition of A Kind Of Loving to go in my kitchen sink collection alongside my pride and joy copy with that iconic Karl Ferris cooling tower photo!
Proper job!

Returned again to the south from seeing my family in Whitby.
Very lucky to be able to hide in the hills of this special little place.
