I have never been more happy to see thick clouds. Border 2 Fire is at 6600+ acres with 10% containment, but the westward winds seem to be helping push the spread to us. Hopefully the heavens can splash a saving touch on us.

It’s senior year, all over again, except the flames feel closer and extend to DC. Such an eerie feeling.

I remember the eerie feeling in 2007 when I saw the mountain outside my window light up in flames, wondering if I would awake the next day. I’m feeling it again in my spine as I see pictures of the Border 2 Fire. 600 acres of fire. God, how heavy my heart be.

What a two years it’s been ☺️ so glad I could celebrate it in a quiet area by the bay.

(I usually don’t splurge with food, but when the occasion calls and when a bunch of your students give you gift cards… 🙃)

I’m glad my grandfather passed away years before this day. My grandfather — grandson of a rabbi who fought in WWII to protect our country from this kind of evil — would be heartbroken.
