I’m not sure why I thought David Lynch’s Eraserhead was a good one for the treadmill. Slow moody soundscapes typically work better without the clomp clomp of my meaty horse hooves. That would definitely be an offline baby these days.

Benoît Chieux’s Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds ruled. Music and style were so fun. Ran like an extra mile today because I wanted to finish it. Looking forward to getting a dub version in the future because I think my toddler would also enjoy.

Alice Lowe’s Timestalker was a DNFOT (Did not finish on treadmill), although I did finish later in the day. I appreciate the look and actors, but ultimately wasn’t quite my speed.

2025 Treadmill Movie Thread

I started Umberto Pasolini’s The Return on a run in 2024 and finished in 2025.
A bit small feeling, a Wishbone retelling would probably have more extras, but still entertaining. Wishbone would also probably leave out the full frontal male nudity and throat slitting.

David Hinton’s Made In England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger was a pretty top tier treadmill movie. Just clips of some of the most beautiful movies ever narrated by Martin Scorsese.

V/H/S/Beyond I did not think was as good as vhs85 (the only other in the series I’ve watched), but it was an alright treadmill movie. Segments help with getting me to keep running longer than I might have otherwise. “Just need to make it until the end of the dog people one”

Damian McCarthy’s Oddity was not a good treadmill movie. Not because it is bad but because it is too good and moody. Also was a DNTF (Did Not Treadmill Finish) which means I was too invested and needed to keep watching outside of runs.

(Turning this into a treadmill movie thread)
Nithilian Saminathan’s Maharaja ended up not being a bad treadmill movie. I thought I missed some important information at parts but realized by the end that was by design. Subtitles are actually a pretty good way to keep my eyes off the time/distance.

Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare is my treadmill movie of the year. Fun nonsense, hot actors, easy to pop back into after a days rest (still quipping while indiscriminately killing nazis I see). No notes.
