My high school students grow their own food under grow lights. They love it. We take seeds from fruit and veggies, learn how they grow and try it out. We've been very successful with peppers this year. Truly a powerful lesson to teach students that they're capable of growing their own food.

Yes! Our governments, businesses and propaganda tell individuals that they are the problem. "Ride your bike more... have energy efficient homes..." But we are just a drop in the bucket comparatively.

Lichens are one of those things the more I learn the cooler they become. Right up there with sourdough genetics, composting worm bins and freshwater mussels.

I do think there's an interesting conversation within academics about where ai ends and where a person starts. I feel like ai should be for initial research, helping to flesh out points you might not have thought of and for editing. But then are we losing these skills because ai does this?
