You clearly know nothing about applying for PIP, especially how disabled you need to be to qualify for higher rate mobility. Plus despite having it explained that “you” are NOT “buying” ANYONE A CAR, you are not listening. It clearly suits you to believe the Daily Mail instead, so I’m not engaging.

It’s about you being happy to pay for the Royals, for MPs 2nd homes, cars, energy, expenses, subsidised booze & meals, but you don’t want to pay towards benefits for people who are disabled and need a car to get to work, to hospital, to fit their wheelchair in.
*Even if that could be you one day.*

“The taxpayer” still contributes towards disability benefits whether or not the disabled person chooses to spend their PIP on leasing a car through Motability or not.
Now the pertinent point is that YOU don’t want your taxes to go towards disability benefits.
It’s not a scam, or about the cars.
November 27, 2025 at 11:13 AM
The monthly cost to lease the car is paid directly to Motability instead of to the disabled person; this is the higher rate mobility component of PIP which is notoriously difficult to get. You can choose to have it paid to you to cover the costs of a car/wheelchair/powerchair/taxis/ instead. …/

Let me correct you; Motability does NOT cost “the taxpayer” (which includes many disabled people btw) £3 billion. The “buying cars” is done by Motability, who *leases* the cars to disabled people for 3 years. We pay an upfront non-refundable payment of between 0 and £5000+, out of our own money. ../
November 27, 2025 at 11:07 AM
😆😆Where did you pull that figure from? Your arse? Honestly.
November 26, 2025 at 8:06 PM
We DO pay for our own vehicles under Motability - it’s a lease arrangement. We pay an Advance Payment every 3 years (we don’t get that back at the end, btw), then our entire mobility component of PIP goes straight to Motability every month. “The public” doesn’t fund it.

Quiet, piggy.

😂😂Mine would be David Olusoga (and maybe some of the historians he interviewed in “Empire”). He seems very calm and capable, so hopefully I should be ok.

What makes you think I have a luxury car? I have an entry level automatic SUV that I can drive with my functional leg and that fits my powerchair in the boot.
Who made you so bitter, by the way? You seem really resentful that some disabled people can lease a car to get to work. That’s quite sad.
November 25, 2025 at 5:04 PM
I see you’re also trying to wind up other people on this subject, so first let me tell you it won’t work with me. Anyway, I tried a BMW SUV a few years ago to see if my wheelchair would fit in the boot, and it wouldn’t.
My current car is a Skoda because my powerchair fits & the car sits high up.

You said BMW earlier, now it’s a Merc. Which is it?
November 25, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Finally, instead of believing utter lies about Motability cars, why don’t you try doing basic research/ask a disabled person about the actual facts behind Motability (which is a charity, by the way)? It’s not much different to a company car or a lease car, and doesn’t cost “the taxpayer” anything.
November 25, 2025 at 4:54 PM
4. The customer’s entire mobility component gets paid monthly to Motability to pay for the lease. 5. Have you tried getting an electric powerchair into the boot of a Fiat 500? Why do you think many Motability customers need bigger cars? 6. Adv payment is a lot more on Automatic/WAV/adapted cars.
November 25, 2025 at 4:49 PM
1. Motability cars are LEASE cars with a non-refundable advanced payment of anything between 0 & 4k+. 2. You can only lease one if you qualify for the highest rate mobility on PIP which basically means you can’t walk more than a few metres, if at all. 3. Many Motability customers ARE taxpayers.

In the UK it is, yes.

My Grandmother loved the Horniman, and had an incredibly vivid memory of her Father - honourably discharged from the Army in 1917, after he had been gassed - who took her to the Horniman when he returned home from the war, had to sit down on the stairs to rest, then died a few days later.

Definitely not 20-30 years ago, and not in a hospital or hospice, or even palliative care at home. Morphine drivers have been used since the early 1980s, and before that it would have been a Doctor giving a timed dose. The OP did not kill his or her uncle.
November 23, 2025 at 3:39 PM
You definitely didn’t. Drivers are set to only deliver a certain amount until the next dose is due - unless. Doctor or Nurse with the override key changes it.
