Sure, Oleg is a pragmatic moneyman with continued links with Muscovy, but imo it really is a stretch, a big stretch, to try to see Jevgeni as a Kremlin plant. He’s a nepokid, but so far also a strong voice of reason in the local political discourse.

The EU’s pretty much at war with Russia. Russia is certainly at war with the EU. Given the position, it’s not really surprising that the “big boys” don’t really bother with her. They prefer the politics of division and bilateralism.
