I believe this Is the medieval glass in St. John’s Almshouse in Sherborne. I hope to do a video about it soonish, hopefully from the inside!

Just found out about *Eleni,* apparently a classic non-fiction account of the brutality of Nazis and communists in 40s and 50s Greece. Is it weird that the author is one Nicholas Gage, considering who's in the film of *Captain Corelli's Mandolin* (which also touches on Nazis and communists?)

The 15th century font in St. Cuthbert’s was brought here from nearby North Wootton. It is made from the local Ham Hill stone and is covered with centuries of scratches

That this no longer reads ‘WH Smith’ feels seismic, every bit as much as the disappearance of the Woolworths up the road (and all Woolworths in the country) following the GFC.

This is in St. Sepulchre chapel in Sherborne Abbey. The rest of the stained glass in there is modern, but the simplicity of this window, its colour scheme, and its proximity to the medieval glass in St. Katherine’s chapel make me wonder if it is medieval

Would Sherborne Abbey’s ceiling have been even more colourful back when it was built?
