And that was what I was alluding to, formatting on Libre can be wonky when working with docx or formulas w/ xlsx. I haven't encountered those issues with WPS. So for a professional replacement, I'd use it. Also, it helps that the layout is the same as MS Office.

One other thing, I noticed that you're a Freelance writer. Most Linux distros come with something called LibreOffice Suite. I use Excel for work and Word for mailmergers. In my experience, Libre isn't on par with MS Office, but WPS Office Suite is. Its practically a carbon copy.

Yes, I switched from Windows over two years ago. I dont use Zorin, (im on something more complex) but my wife does. She likes it a lot and she's not a computer person at all. They have an app store, no terminal required, and it's basically all point and click navigation.

So, there's a Distro called ZorinOS. It is designed *specifically* for ppl migrating from Windows/Mac. Basically, the learning curve is just a slight slant upwards. Unfortunately, I'm breaking your rule in recommending Linux but the look/feel is straight Windows. And you can try it b4 u install it.
