I think this is one of the strongest arguments against most “productivity” measurements: you really want MORE software?

This is an ad I saw on the NYT a few days ago. Completely insane!!

I grew up in Columbus and after having lived in the deeper Midwest for the past decade or so I can say that you are required to have CTE to drive there

Have not heard a single person talking about this besides saying “people are talking about this”

I do like rebasing and bisecting, but it’s only because I have something wrong with me and I think they’re “neat”. If I ever feel the urge to use them at work I just step away from the computer, or try to find somewhere else to work!

Have there been other “Arrows” variations? I love this card, and I’ve always thought it was kind of funny to be specific with “serrated”—of course a card just called “Arrows” is not super interesting…

Was going to say the same thing about the music. It seems to be a trend to have some “chill” music in the background so maybe there’s something to “engagement” or something? I’d really just like to hear the guy talk.

This is beating an extremely dead horse but remember when everyone was mad at Bernie for going on Joe Rogan?

Unbelievable 6th inning we’re having here

There has to be some joke here about “lines of” something… Code is a hell of a drug?

Is this only for eBooks? Maybe I’m missing where I could use it on the Bookshop page…

Beautiful job otherwise, too!

Snot (or goblin?) green base WITH the names?? This is how it was meant to be…

That’s a lot of posting but this is one of my favorite music anecdotes, sorry for the unsolicited share!

Not really a diss track, but my favorite anecdote of amazing pettiness between great musicians. I also have to imagine that people have recorded their own takes on a song in direct response to another, just to show they can do it better.

Allegedly, on the day of the recording both Freddie and Woody arrived at separate times, saw that the other wasn’t there, and then left, refusing to be the first of the two at the session.

Okay never interacted beyond following you here, BUT historically there have been pretty great displays of machismo at least “around” the music. My favorite is a story I heard about the album Double Take featuring Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw.

The talks @dstepanovic.bsky.social’s given on this really helped me clarify some thoughts, I haven’t read these articles of yours though! Was nice to his name show up.

Nice! This paragraph hits a little too close to my current home:

“Notice how little time the team spent working on this story: just 5.3 hours. And, notice how much time the team spent waiting for each other: 72 hours.”

Had not heard “cooperate” as opposed to “collaborate” before! That’s a great distinction.

I’ve been running into this scenario a lot! The green part in this example makes me think that that would indicate the selected option, but since it’s also kind of a “switch” that makes me think that the more neutral color is then switch, and then actually that would be the selected option.
